If you remember my summer bucket list, I wanted to really get back into reading more. Here’s my list of top picks for your night stand or beach towel this season:

  1. The Girls by Emma Cline: Gir A coming-of-age story set in the late 1960s, that involves a thoughtful teenage girl who drifts into a cult.
  2. Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld: A modern-day twist on Pride & Prejudice. Did I mention the Elizabeth Bennet is a writer for a fashion magazine? Hands down, hilarious.
  3. Modern Lovers by Emma Straub: The story of a close-knit group of college friends in New York City who try to embrace their youth as they continue to grow up, even well into their adulthood.
  4. Sweetbitter: A Novel by Stephanie Danler: Another coming-of-age tale of a girl taking in the education of working in one of the most exclusive restaurants in Manhattan.
  5. First Comes Love: A Novel by Emily Giffin: A compelling read about the complex relationship between a pair of sisters who are forced to come to terms with their own lives after a family tragedy.
  6. The Assistants by Camille Perri: Featuring a group of (you’ve guessed it) underpaid assistants, the story follows 30-year-old Tina as she discovers a technical error in her boss’s expenses that could pay off her student loans and the moral dilemna she is soon faces as the other assistants learn about the error.
  7. Rich and Pretty: A Novel by Ramaan Alam: Set in New York City, lifetime friends Sarah and Lauren are faced with being seperated by increasingly different lives. The question on both of their minds? Can their childhood formed friendship survive the realms of adulthood?

What have you been reading lately?

Happy weekend, y’all! While I originally was planning a trip to Block Island this weekend, I end up deciding to visit my mom and step-dad in D.C. instead :-) Spending time with Matt’s family made me realize just how much I missed them, and I’m already enjoying all the traditions of home – from making midnight  s’mores to snuggling on the couch while watching old episodes of Gossip Girl (still can’t believe how relevant their style choices are even being off-air for over four years!). Did I mention they have air conditioning? Just icing on the cake.

  1. Surprising habits of influential people.
  2. Your guide to the four rosé varieties.
  3. How cute is this gingham dress? P.s. It’s on sale!)
  4. I had the best time Thursday at Paper Factory Hotel’s annual summer party – there’s even video evidence.
  5. I love this helpful piece on staying motivated and stress-free.
  6. A seafood dish I’m dying to make this summer.

Whew! What a week. I apologize for my lack of posting, but my job has been keeping me on my toes – if you haven’t gotten any of the hints off of my social media channels, I work closely with the fashion industry so I’ve been working non-stop in preparation of #NYFW (and loving it!) lately. Oh! And it’s already September… when did that happen? I’m starting to lose count of what day it is… Don’t worry, I will still continue to post 😉

What is everyone doing for Labor Day Weekend? Be safe and have fun!

1. An Instagram-friendly guide to Nantucket.

2. Ready to start investing? This guide is perfect.

3. The best movies for ever step of your career (!)

4. Can’t wait to try these fall-inspired salads.

4. How cute are these perfectly curated gift boxes? The hostess one is seriously perfect.

5. 27 things that are just as important as saying ‘I love you.’

6. I finally pulled the trigger on this pleated skirt and have zero regrets.

7. For anyone who has never had a panic attack or has friend(s) with anxiety, please read this. It may help you understand a friend or loved one better.

8. The best kinds of books to raise your intelligence level.

I don’t remember the last time I was so ready for the weekend. It’s been crazy at work preparing for Fashion Week (*month) so this will be the last 48 hours that I can truly relax till March. Fortunately, LIVELY was sweet enough to sponsor a barre class tonight for me and a few friends, so I’m sure that’ll help me sleep tonight. Then on Sunday, Matt and I are hosting a little impromptu Super Bowl party! I cannot wait to see some old (and new) friends, try some new recipes (below) and cheer on Tom Brady.

Have fun, everyone!

1. 11 must-read books for winter hibernation.

2. Recipes for a healthy Super Bowl party. I want to make them all!

3. Monogrammed luggage from Mark & Graham? Two words: Need. Immediately.

4. How cute are all of Mackenzie’s Valentine’s Day outfit ideas?

4. Loved reading this exclusive interview with Karlie Kloss. Not only does she juggle being a model, NYU student and entrepreneur, but she clearly has a good head on her shoulders that embodies the definition of “role model.”

5. How fun is this La La Land filming locations map? Maybe on my next trip out west…

6. Curve your sweet tooth with these expert tips.

7. If you’re still not sure what did get your guy this Valentine’s Day 😉

8. It’s National #LIVELY Babe Day! Check out my interview with the company’s founder!

After almost two months of traveling every weekend (Maine, D.C., Maryland, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey (LBI), Connecticut, etc.) this summer, I’m finally taking a weekend to relax and recuperate at home.

Apologies for my delay in blogging aside, I’m excited to get back to a writing routine, despite a couple more trips ahead (Annapolis/D.C. to visit family and Megan who just moved there – yay! – Chicago for Lollapalozza and then Europe and Russia for a last-minute family vacation).

You can see this weekend was absolutely necessary. Only movie marathons and stops to our favorite Hoboken brunch spot allowed.

Cheers to the weekend, indeed!

7. I don’t think I know anyone else as excited as Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard about the return of Game of Thrones tonight 😉

9. 25 successful business leaders give their advice #mustread

10. This site is so cool – everything is $3 – no joke. It’s everything from groceries to toothpaste.

11. I know I may have a bit of a dress addiction this summer, but this looks like one from Reformation for way, way less…

12. Five habits of successful people before 8 a.m.

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful weekend!

I’m taking this time to get organized for August: I’m headed to Chicago for Lollapalozza with some friends Thursday, then Denmark, Germany, Russia, Estonia and Sweden for a last-minute family trip for two weeks. Now that I’ve finally packed for both, I can move on from nerves to excitement. I have a feeling the next few weeks will fly by!

Here’s to the week(s) ahead 😉

2. I cannot wait for the Jazz Age Lawn Party again this year! Did you read my review of last year’s?

4. How to make the weekend last longer 😉

5. I love cheeseburgers… but I do find this study on how vegetarian diets may be more helpful for losing weight intriguing.

8. I couldn’t resist snagging this classic coat from the Nordstrom annual sale.

Instead of running to and from shows, I’ve been content to take it easy and enjoy spending some time at home (I just realized I’ve been almost every weekend since the start of summer!) and recharge. Since last week was a little crazy, I apologize for the delay with this post – but hey, better late than never, right?

This past weekend I completely unplugged. Matt’s parents invited us to the country for this past weekend and I had such a fun time visiting a local lavender farm, learning to drive a pick-up truck, apple picking (you can never be too early, right?) and taking advantage of scenic roads. Honestly, I was ready to relax, embrace fall and enjoy some quality time with amazing people.

Hope everyone is had a fantastic weekend and Monday!

Minus the fact that it’s felt like summer for the past few days, fall finally feels like it’s here – from the autumnal decorations popping up on stoops that I pass on my way to work to adding a blazer or coat to my outfits.

Fall is definitely my favorite season (if you couldn’t tell from my previous posts) so I’m excited to take it easy this weekend and really celebrate the changing of the seasons. I actually have Monday off for Columbus Day (a first!), so I’m hoping to pick up a pumpkin and catch some colorful foliage, especially since next weekend Matt and I will be in Iceland!

Can we rewind this weekend?

Friday night was spent catching up with good friends, then Saturday, Matt and I dressed up to try out the legendary pasta at Via Carota in the Village. Let’s just say it exceeded all of our expectations and we will definitely be back! Plus, a cameo of Sarah Jessica Parker dining there gave it an official stamp of approval.

Then today, a couple of friends and I headed to the Storm King Art Center and the weather couldn’t be more beautiful. Honestly, just one day was not enough – again, it will not be our last time there. I’m thinking a picnic in the spring? I cannot wait until we can visit again.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

As you all are reading this, I’m celebrating one of my best friend’s wedding’s in Florida. While I never pass up a chance to see friends (many who are attending I’ve known 10+ years!) and toast Mallory and her new husband, Taylor, it’s especially incredible since I’ve watched these two go from friends to soulmates since 2008. Plus, I have to admit that I needed a break from the chilly northeast – although now I’m excited to come home to a snow-covered Manhattan!

Here’s to a weekend full of fun and holiday cheer!
